The Office of Student Affairs at Missouri Valley University invites applications for a full-time graduate assistant for Greek Life.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities
- Social Media Management: Assist in developing and executing a comprehensive social media strategy for Missouri Valley University Greek Life, including content creation, scheduling, and engagement across various platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, TikTok).
- Data Tracking and Reporting: Maintain accurate records and data related to Greek organizations, including membership numbers, academic performance, philanthropic efforts, and community service hours. Generate regular reports to assess organizational health and identify areas for improvement.
- Expansion & Extension Efforts: Support the Greek Life Coordinator in efforts to explore and implement expansion and extension opportunities for new or returning fraternity and sorority chapters on campus, including research, outreach, and logistical support.
- Recruitment and Membership Development: Assist with the planning, promotion, and execution of formal and informal recruitment events for all Greek-letter organizations. Develop and implement strategies to increase student interest and participation in Greek Life.
- Meeting Attendance & Support: Attend regular meetings with the Greek Life Coordinator, student leaders, and relevant campus committees (e.g., Greek Council, Order of Omega). Prepare meeting agendas, take minutes, and follow up on action items as directed.
- Risk Management & Compliance: Ensure all Greek organizations complete mandatory risk management training sessions. Assist in the development and dissemination of risk management resources and policies to promote a safe and responsible Greek community.
- Program and Event Support: Assist with the planning, promotion, and execution of Greek Life events and initiatives, including leadership development programs, educational workshops, recognition ceremonies, and philanthropic events.
- Advisory Support: Provide guidance and support to individual chapters and Greek Council as needed, fostering positive interfraternal/intersororal relations and promoting adherence to college policies and national organization guidelines.
- Resource Development: Assist in the creation and updating of resources for Greek-letter organizations, including handbooks, training materials, and promotional flyers.
- Administrative Support: Perform general administrative duties as assigned, including maintaining files, responding to inquiries, and assisting with correspondence.
- On-Call Responsibilities: May require occasional evening and weekend hours to support Greek Life events and activities.
Qualifications
- Completion of a Bachelor’s degree before the start of the assistantship, acceptance into an applied graduate program, have a minimum of a 2.5 undergraduate GPA, or 3.0 if any graduate work has been completed prior to being hired and all international students wishing to work must have a Social Security number.
- Proficient in written and verbal communication
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Prior experience in Greek Life (e.g., collegiate member, chapter officer) is preferred but not required
- Innovative and having the ability to adapt to ever changing situations

Additional Information
As a pre-condition of employment, the applicant must be authorized to work in the United States. Employment at MVU is contingent upon satisfactory completion of background check. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. May require occasional overnight travel.
